Snow Day in the Garden District

Hi there!

As I write this, wearing my thickest, coziest socks and huddled under a fat down blanket, the East Coast snow bomb cyclone swirls outside. The forecast predicts up to 14″ in our area by the time all’s said and done (which should be in about another eight hours), and if the view from our back door’s any indication, we’ll get there!

I wouldn’t call myself a snow bunny, but I do enjoy these days, which seem meant for creating. And after a wonderfully productive writing session this morning, I’ll soon switch to my current sewing WIP:

I posted about Garden District by Coriander Quilts a few weeks ago, and shared my plans to make it in Moda’s new(ish) Quill collection. Since I’m a woman of my word, I’ve done exactly that!

These prints are a bit of a departure for me, but I was drawn to their smoky purples, grays, and blues. And though I wasn’t sure about my background choice at first, because I didn’t know if the other colors would pop enough against the muted ivory, the more I sew, the happier I am.

And how adorable are those little birds? In the middle of this snow-plosion, they’re such sweet signs of spring!

Wherever you are and whatever your weather, I hope you’re enjoying a cozy, creative day! Thanks so much for stopping by!
